Sailing Lesson

Our friend RN graciously offered to give Adidas a couple of sailing lessons. Today was the first.

The boat’s a little Sunfish, perfect for our the little lake.

They had enough wind, but not too much.

Today Adidas learned the theory and got used to tacking and the feel of being on the boat in the water. Tomorrow, weather permitting, Adidas will take the ropes.

Mountain Men

We took a little excursion to the vacant lot for archery practice. There happened to be an old couch just sitting there, which the boys used for a target.

One was pretty close to the bullseye, but they aren’t ready to try for rabbits yet:

Then they went blackberry picking:

I stayed behind and took some nature pictures.

The boys were so sweet, they shared their blackberries with Jill and me.

A Year in Pictures – 2007

All the 4th grade classes make a cake in the shape of NJ. 3 years ago, Spragoon’s class did it by counties – he had Mercer. This year, Adidas’s class did it by regions. This is looking from the north. Hershey’s kisses are the mountains in Sussex county – pretzel sticks are the pines in the Pine Barrens:

Building a Deck

7/4/07 Happy 4th of July!
Here’s a photo of Adidas and his friends up in the Catskills – our neighbors were having a deck built, so the kids had to get in on the action.

BTW, those of you with older kids, how old do they have to be before they stop sticking their tongue out when they see the camera?
